| In the centre of the town of Kidwelly in south-western Wales is its Anglo-Norman castle, overlooking the river Gwendraeth. Built by the English in the 1200s as a defence against the Welsh, it changed hands between both in the 12th century, and was rebuilt by king Henry V. |
