| The cathedral's western entrance. It was built in the 12th century on the site of a previous church which existed 600 years prior, and is the holiest place in all Wales: pope Calixtus II declared in 1124 that 2 pilgrimages here equalled one to Rome, and 3 to Jerusalem. |
