| The landmark Burj Khalifa, standing outside the western end of Dubai Mall, overlooking its eponymous lake. At 828 metres, it has been the tallest structure and building in the world since its topping out in 2009. Construction began in 2004 and finished 5 years later, opening in January 2010 as part of the Downtown Dubai neighbourhood. |
