| Under restoration from a 2003 earthquake, the basilica's symbolic and religious importance is shown by an inscription inside on the apse: Notre Dame d'Afrique, priez pour nous et pour les Musulmans ("Our Lady of Africa, pray for us and the Muslims"). Works finished in 2010.
