| A Yeomen Warder (or "Beefeater"), outside the Tower entrance. In principle they are responsible for looking after Tower prisoners and safeguarding the crown jewels, but in practice they act as tour guides. All are retired from the Armed Forces of Commonwealth realms with at least 22 years' service. |
