| Looking out over Saksun from a walking path halfway up the mountain, watched by the Saksun church (left of picture). The bay Pollin was once a deep natural harbour surrounded by high mountains, until a storm blocked the connecting inlet with sand. The old harbour become an inaccessible seawater lagoon, and today is still only accessible by small boats on high tide. |
