| The 24m-tall obelisk, atop an underground funerary chamber, is a landmark of the Punic portion of the ruins of Sabratha. Not often seen in African cities after the Romans, the Mausoleum of Bes escaped their rebuilding, reflecting the Punic roots of this city. |
