| Enshrined inside the church are the remains of its founder Saint Basil, the Metropolitan Bishop of Herzegovina, who died here in 1671, sainted some years later and proclaimed a miracle-worker. Its current appearance dates from 1923-6, after a fire which had destroyed a major part of the complex. |
