| Bustling Muttrah serves as Muscat's main port and is a popular fish market in its own right, and is also the home of the famous Muttrah souq (entrance to the left of the picture): the Lewara Quarter stretches around most of the bay. Before the discovery of oil, Muttrah was the centre of commerce in Oman.
