| The Muscat Gate stretches across Al-Bahri Road to (and marks the westernmost boundary of) the old city of Muscat proper. Built in 1995 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of sultan Qaboos bin Said's reign, it holds a museum on the upper floors, opened in 2001. |
