| Built by the Portuguese in 1580s, Muttrah's fort was built over a rocky outcrop on the harbour's eastern half. It was used mainly for military purposes, and was also previously a prison. After a decade's extensive restoration, the fort was officially reopened to the public in mid-2018. |
