| The Tinganes ("parliament point" in Faroese) peninsula is the historic location of the Faroese Government, and is one of the oldest parliamentary meeting places in the world, having met here as early as the Viking period. In the Middle Ages, Tinganes became a central trading place with numerous warehouses: many standing today date from a rebuild after a 1673 fire. |
