| The Faroese parliament met in Tinganes each year until its abolition in 1816; when re-established in 1852 as the løgting ("law assembly" in Faroese), it was moved further north into its own building within the city. However the home-rule government still sits here: the door on the left (centre of picture) is the entrance to the Løgmansskrivstovan, or the Prime Minister's office. |
