A bust of Sir Ernest Shackleton, the famous polar explorer, in the South Georgia Museum. His Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition resulted in shipwreck off Elephant Island in 1916: he made the 800-mile journey to South Georgia, trekked over its spine to eventually get to Grytviken, to rescue his crew.
